Feel free to post words here, showing others the differences between Tagalog and Cebuano. Here is my first set:


Tagalog - Cebuano

Buko - Botong

English - Young coconut juice, usually sold on the side of the road, as well as in many other places.

Kumain - Tagalog

Eat - English

cebuano: buto - vagina

tagalog: buto - bone

ilonggo: buto - growth

cebuano:langgam - bird

tagalog:langgam - ant

cebuano:kadyot - a moment

tagalog:kadtoy - copulate

This is a prime example of saying a word in one region meaning something totally innocent and saying it in another which could be not so innocent.
